The JD Group and Steag Polska have started cooperation with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. The agreement on joint research and development was signed in Cracow.

The cooperation will cover innovative and development activities. Based on the signed agreement, the partners will initiate research and development of new products, launch projects for the development of innovative technology solutions, apply for external funds, and seek new products using by-products of combustion from the power industry. These products are used as a supplement to the production of construction products or as building material.

JD Sp. z o.o. Sp. K. and Steag Energo Mineral Sp. z o.o., co-owned by JD Holding, a member of the JD Group, are companies from Opole dealing in the construction industry. For many years they have been ranked among the Polish and European market leaders for the management of by-products of combustion in the power industry, distribution of cement and other building materials and transport.

The companies are working intensively on new products for the building and road industries and are looking for new ways to manage by-products in the power industry. The other shareholder of Steag Energo Mineral Sp. z o.o. is Steag Power Minerals GmbH, part of the global Steag concern, the European leader in management of combustion by-products and power producer.

The AGH UST is one of the most important Polish technical universities. It includes, among others, AGH Centre of Power Engineering, aiming at developing research in the field of efficient technologies of energy generation and processing in cooperation with external entities.
